Computer Science Initiative

Based in Sandy, Oregon, Todos Juntos spearheads the Computer Science Initiative, a multifaceted program designed to promote inclusive and comprehensive computer science education within our districts. Our initiative seamlessly integrates in-class and out-of-class programs, ensuring a cohesive pathway from elementary through high school. We prioritize pre-engineering instruction and career-connected learning opportunities to cultivate students' interest and proficiency in STEM fields. A cornerstone of our initiative is the development of tailored summer science camps, specifically crafted to address the diverse needs of rural Clackamas County's populations, offering hands-on experiences and fostering a sustained engagement with STEM subjects year-round. Recognizing the imperative of broadening access to STEM education, particularly among underserved demographics, we've established STEM Collaboratives comprised of partners from various sectors, community-based organizations, and school staff. Through collaborative efforts, we aim to advance STEM education equitably, crafting culturally relevant programs and initiatives that empower all students to explore and excel in STEM fields, thereby creating pathways to diverse STEM careers while addressing the unique challenges faced by underserved communities.
