Targeting at-risk Latino youth and their parents in three Tucson school districts, the Familia Adelante Program employs a dynamic, culturally responsive two-generational approach. By increasing awareness of substance abuse risks and facilitating community involvement, the program aims to mitigate the prevalence of behavioral health issues among youth. Through indigenous practices and funding from the Arizona Governor’s Office of Youth, Faith, and Family Parent’s Commission, Familia Adelante fosters family cohesion, involvement, and communication, ultimately promoting holistic development and familial bonds.
