Ways to Get Involved

GIVE BACK TO YOUR PUBLIC LANDS

Give back to your public lands as a resource advisory council member, partner, or volunteer. Or become one of our 10,000+ employees as an intern or crew member.

WAYS TO GET INVOLVED

The BLM offers internships that provide young people and veterans with jobs and job training opportunities in local communities. These internships help to support American families and build strong economies while keeping public lands healthy and productive. Working individually or as part of a team or crew, BLM interns participate in the shared stewardship of public lands - building trails and enhancing recreational facilities, restoring habitat damaged by wildland fire, and supporting BLM's multiple-use mission.

POTENTIAL PARTNERS

Many BLM internships are made possible through public-private partnerships involving BLM offices and youth-serving organizations in states and local communities. Opportunities to pursue partnerships with the BLM to provide internships and other job training opportunities for young people and veterans are posted regularly on grants.gov.

VOLUNTEERS

PUBLIC SERVICE ON YOUR PUBLIC LANDS

The BLM values the thousands of volunteers who offer their time, skills, and service to help care for the nation’s natural and cultural resources. Volunteers contribute to many BLM program areas, including recreation, wild horses and burros, cultural and historical resources, and environmental education. Our volunteers work with us to be good neighbors in the communities we serve.

DONATIONS TO SUPPORT YOUR PUBLIC LANDS

Americans generously give every day through their tax dollars to sustain the health, diversity, and productivity of public lands. As a government agency, the Bureau of Land Management does not solicit donations. However, those wanting to support their public lands can do so through monetary donations to a specific BLM office or to a BLM partner or friend’s group that helps further BLM’s programs and mission.
