Wellness

Studies have shown that people of all ages and abilities enjoy higher levels of health and well-being when they have access to nature.

Access to nature has been related to lower levels of mortality and illness, higher levels of physical activity and social connection, lower levels of anxiety and depression, greater sense of well-being and restoration from stress.

In short, access to nature makes us happier and healthier human beings! It is good Rx for our body, mind and soul.

Recognizing these important health and wellness benefits, the White Tank Mountains Conservancy is actively pursuing partnerships with non-profits and other organizations to expand access to the mountains to those who need it most. Not everyone is able to drive, run or walk into the White Tank Mountains parks and, when the time is right, we intend to offer outdoor experiences that will benefit people of all ages and from all walks of life, including homeless youth, seniors and disabled veterans.

If your non-profit or organization would like to be involved in a future program, please contact Les Meyers at LMeyers@wtmconservancy.org.
