School-Based Therapy

NYFSs School-Based Mental Health Program provides mental health counseling and support to students and their families in 15 school buildings throughout the Mounds View, Roseville, and White Bear Lake area school districts.

Many of the youth we serve are not able to access traditional clinic-based services and would not receive help without this program. By offering services within a school-based setting, either online or in-person, NYFS therapists are also able to work with teachers and other support professionals to coordinate a high level of care for the student.

Services provided include diagnostic assessments, individual therapy, family therapy, psychiatry, support groups, training and presentations, and academic support via the students school support team. If payment for therapy is a challenge, there may be funding opportunities available to help out with receiving school-based mental health support.

For more information about setting up counseling sessions via school-based services, youth attending schools within the Mounds View, Roseville, or White Bear area school districts should contact their school counselor or dean of students.
