United Partners for Human Services (UPHS), we believe that advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) is essential to truly serving our community. In response to longstanding systemic inequities, we launched a DEI Taskforce in 2020 to help human service organizations take meaningful steps toward creating more inclusive and equitable environments. With leadership from local experts and a clear stance that “if your human service work isn’t anti-racist, it isn’t human service work,” we developed a guidebook and toolkit to support nonprofits in assessing, planning, and implementing DEI practices. This work not only strengthens individual organizations but also drives lasting change across our entire sector ensuring all people are treated with fairness, dignity, and respect.
