The Sewn Products Space provides startup and small existing businesses the equipment, resources and helps needed to succeed in the development of sewn products. The lab will contain (1) industrial walking foot machine for heavy product sewing capable of constructing leather, canvas, upholstery, and other heavy materials.
Additionally, the lab will support startup businesses with (1) commercial machine needed to produce factory-grade garments, 6 home sewing machines, 3 sergers, 2 cutting tables, a 6-inch multi-purchase fabric cutter and an embroidery machine that sets the tone for creatives. 2 lab computers will be available for sourcing and access to development processes for pattern engineering and construction.
For fashion student members the SPERS lab will have mannequins and dress forms to develop sewn products in the lab.
Note: Materials and supplies are the responsibility of the member, but the facility will house some products if needed at a fee.
